Uber Eats
Uber Eats delivery requirements in 2026
Last reviewed: August 30, 2026
Uber Eats is often the most flexible on vehicle type — car, scooter, bike, or foot — but age rules change with the mode and with California or New York motor-vehicle delivery.
Age by delivery mode
- Car or scooter: 19+ in most U.S. markets
- Bike or foot: 18+
- Motor vehicle in California or New York: 21+
Vehicle and documents
Car delivery needs a vehicle that meets Uber’s local rules, a license in your name, insurance where required, and a Social Security number for screening. Bike or foot delivery still requires government ID and a background screening. A smartphone with the Driver app is required.
City availability
Not every mode is open in every ZIP. The official signup is the only reliable way to see whether Uber Eats is accepting new delivery people near you.
