If you do not have a car, a few food apps may still be open in select cities. Package and grocery apps on this site are car-only. Never rent someone else’s account to get around vehicle rules.
Apps that sometimes work without a car
- DoorDash — bike or walk in select cities. Age still follows the state rules (18 most states, 19 in thirteen states, 21 for new California applicants).
- Uber Eats — bike or foot at 18 in markets that offer those modes; scooter follows the motor rules for your state.
- Grubhub — bicycle or scooter in some markets; car is still the default in many cities. Official minimum age is 18 (21 in Las Vegas).

What not to do
Do not buy, rent, or share a delivery account to pretend you have a qualifying vehicle. That violates platform rules, can get accounts deactivated, and can create tax and identity problems. If your city does not offer bike or foot modes, wait until you have a qualifying vehicle or choose a different income path.

Can I do DoorDash without a car?
In select cities, DoorDash offers bike or walk delivery. Availability is ZIP-specific. Start the official Dasher signup and choose your mode there — we do not invent city lists.
Does Uber Eats allow bike or foot delivery?
Yes in some markets. Bike or foot delivery is generally 18+. Car or scooter delivery is 19+ in most places, and motor-vehicle drivers must be 21 in California and New York.
Can I join Amazon Flex or Spark without a car?
No. Amazon Flex requires a 4-door midsize sedan or larger. Spark is limited to a car, SUV, or van. Full-service Instacart shopping also expects a reliable car.
