Amazon Flex requirements in 2026

Last reviewed: August 30, 2026

Amazon Flex pays for scheduled delivery blocks from Amazon logistics sites. The bar is higher than most food apps: 21 or older and a 4-door midsize vehicle. Many cities keep a Join List instead of open signup.

Core eligibility

  • 21 years or older
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license
  • Social Security number
  • Personal auto insurance meeting local requirements
  • Bank account for payouts
  • Smartphone with the Amazon Flex app

Vehicle rules

Use a 4-door midsize sedan or larger. SUVs, vans, and covered trucks are the usual fits. Smaller cars and open-bed trucks are called out by Amazon as not qualifying. Confirm your vehicle during the official app onboarding — do not invent a workaround with a borrowed account.

Background check and onboarding

Amazon Flex screens driving and criminal history and verifies your identity with a physical license. Complete onboarding promptly if you receive an invitation after Join List — spots are limited.

Official apply path only

Download the Amazon Flex app from flex.amazon.com. Ignore third parties selling “instant activation” or account rentals.
